Lincolnton - Mrs. Willie Philbeck Hallman, 75, passed away on Sunday, December 19, 2021 at Lincoln Rehabilitation Center.
Mrs. Hallman was born on April 8, 1946 in Gaston County, NC a daughter of the late Gus Clark Philbeck and Carrie Watts Philbeck. She was retired as a dock supervisor for Carolina Freight Carriers Corporation in Cherryville. Later Mrs. Hallman went to work with The Cleaning Professionals, a business owned by her sister and brother-in-law. She was a member of Lincoln Avenue Baptist Church where she was a former Sunday School teacher and also taught Sunday School classes at local nursing homes, making friends with many of the residents. Mrs. Hallman was a tom-boy, she loved the outdoors. She played basketball during her high school years. Mrs. Hallman lived life working hard, helping others and spending a lot of time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Jerry Hallman of the home; a son, Thomas Matthew Hallman of Lincolnton; a sister, Phyllis Philbeck Burleson and husband David of Cherryville; three grandchildren, Serra Hallman, Katelyn Prince (Cory) and Valen Hallman and two great grandchildren, Zoey and Tobias Prince.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00PM on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at City Memorial Cemetery in Cherryville with the Rev. Eddie Yount officiating.
The family will greet friends following the graveside service.
