Obituary for Billy Hartis
Cherryville - Mr. Billy Hartis, 56, passed away on Sunday, April 16, 2023 at his residence.
Billy was born on September 13, 1966 in Mecklenburg County a son of Shirley Fite Hartis of Cherryville and the late William Matthews Hartis, Sr. He was formerly owner and operator of World Wide Bonding and Vinnie's Raw Bar. Billy was an avid outdoorsman and loved to hunt and fish.
In addition to his father he was preceded in death by a nephew, Jacob Jackson.
Survivors, in addition to his mother, include three sons, William Matthews Hartis, III; Chase Matthews Hartis and wife Kailah all of Lincolnton; Alston Matthews Hartis of Cherryville; two grandchildren, Myles Matthews Hartis and Graham Matthews Hartis; a sister, Kimberly Hartis Jackson and husband Wade of Cherryville; one niece McKenzie Jackson Beam and husband Justin and their son Brooks. Also surviving is his canine companion and best friend Dash.
An informal celebration of life to honor Billy will be held Friday, April 21 between 5-7pm at his favorite fishing pond at 1969 Shoal Rd. Lincolnton, NC. Please feel free to drop by anytime during those hours to share stories and memories of Billy with his family. Note that the driveway to the pond is hidden, so please look for signs at the entrance to guide you.
