Obituary for Winston Morrison
Kings Mountain - Mr. Walter Winston Morrison, 83, passed away on Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at his residence.
Winston was born in Gaston County, North Carolina on July 3, 1938 and was a son of the late Lester Harvey Morrison and Essie Porter Morrison. He was retired from the textile industry. Winston was an ordained minister and a member of the Kings Mountain Church of the Nazarene. He was a faithful Christian warrior who served the Lord with unfailing commitment. Winston served as a Chaplain at Atrium Shelby Hospital, a Sunday School teacher, and in Prison Ministry. He was a loving husband, best dad ever, a loving grandfather and a father figure to many. His joy was working the land on his farm. He had a humbleness with a twinkle in his eye and his trademark smile and laughter captivated everyone. His passing is our loss and heavens gain. He will be greatly missed.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two wives, Doris L. Morrison and Brenda Scates Morrison and a son, Terry Morrison.
Survivors include two daughters, Gina Morrison of Granite Falls; Melissa Fannin and husband Ken of Kings Mountain; two sisters, Shirley Keating of Virginia and Judy Barnes of Charlotte; a brother, Alonzo Morrison of Charlotte; six grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 10:45AM to 11:45AM on Friday, June 10, 2022 at Kings Mountain First Church of the Nazarene.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00PM on Friday, June 10, 2022 at Kings Mountain First Church of the Nazarene with the Revs. Cameron Barefield and Jerry Lail officiating.
Burial will follow the service at Independent Baptist Tabernacle Cemetery in Dallas.
