Obituary for Roy Carver
Cherryville - Mr. Roy Eugene Carver, 81, formerly of Weaverville, passed away on Monday, August 1, 2022 at his residence.
Mr. Carver was born in Buncombe County, NC on December 17, 1940 son of the late Alfred Monroe Carver and Nellie Faye Gibbs Carver. He was retired from the City of Stanley as a supervisor in the water treatment plant. Mr. Carver attended New Buffalo Baptist Church in Grover. He served in the U.S. Navy.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Vertie Lou Hensley Carver of the home; a son, Glenn Carver of Michigan; three daughters, Brenda Rumbough, Rebecca Grigg (Bill Ruccio) and Jennifer Singleton all of Cherryville; nieces, Kimberly Ponder, Michelle Loux, Ronda Burris, Joy Lynn Carver, Mary Faye Carver and Toni Carver and a nephew, Kevin Carver; seven grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 1:45PM to 2:45PM on Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at Stamey-Cherryville Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00PM on Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at Stamey-Cherryville Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Michael Rote officiating.
Burial will follow in Cherryville City Memorial Cemetery.
