Bessemer City - Mercedes Annette Brittain, 3 month old daughter of Alex and Justina Carpenter Brittain, passed away on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at Novant Health in Charlotte.

Mercedes was born on November 21, 2022 in Lincoln County. She was the little sister of Chevy Dale Brittain of the home. In addition to her parents, survivors include her grandparents, Candace Brannon of Lincolnton, Eric Brittain of Cherryville and Zelda Lovelace of Vale; great grandparents, Randy and Betty Brittain of Cherryville, Linda and Larry Carpenter of Kings Mountain; aunts and uncles, Destiny, Adrianna and Cody Carpenter all of Canton; Sandra Fortner and Debra Head both of Clover; special aunt Pam "Cookie" Paige; a niece, Audrey Brittain of Lincolnton; a cousin Dakota Fortner.

She was preceded in death by great grandparents, Rupert and Betty Brannon.

The family will receive friends from 3:45PM to 4:45PM on Friday, March 3, 2023 at Stamey-Cherryville Funeral Home.

A memorial service will be held at 5:00PM on Friday, March 3, 2023 at Stamey-Cherryville Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Dennis Bean officiating.

Burial will be private.
