Obituary for John W. Black
Cherryville - Mr. John Wiley (Beam, Jr.) Black, 79, passed away on Saturday, May 20, 2023 at his residence surrounded by his family.
John was born on May 20, 1944 in Lincoln County a son of the late John Wiley Beam, Sr. and Katie Gilmore Beam and he was raised by Stowe and Mae Black. He retired as a residential carpenter. John attended North Brook Baptist Church of Cherryville. He loved the outdoors especially hunting, fishing and gardening.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Eunice Black of the home; a son John Devin Black of Catawba County, NC; and god children, Jordan and Katie Sellers. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life service will be held on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at 2:00PM at North Brook Baptist Church with Dr. Robert Wise officiating.
The family will greet friends following the service.
Burial will be private.
