Obituary for John T. Arthur
Cherryville - Mr. John Thomas Arthur, 76, passed away on Monday, October 31, 2022 at Atrium Health - Cleveland in Shelby.
John was born on June 13, 1946 in Lincoln County, NC a son of the late Harry E. Arthur, Sr. and Vevette Wehunt Arthur. He was retired as owner and operator of Arthur Trucking in Cherryville. He was a member of North Brook Baptist Church in Cherryville and also a member of Fallston Masonic Lodge #356 A.F. & A.M.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law, Harry E. Arthur, Jr. and Judy P. Arthur and a brother-in-law, Mickey Willis.
Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Jean Patterson Arthur of the home; a son, J.T. Arthur and wife Ashley of Cherryville; a step-son, Jeff McCall of Belmont; grandson, Ashton Arthur; step-grandson, Devin Hoskins; two sisters, Judy Willis of Lawndale and Betsy Chapman and husband Marvin of Sherrills Ford.
The family will receive friends from 1:45PM to 2:45PM on Friday, November 11, 2022 at Stamey-Cherryville Funeral Home.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00PM on Friday, November 11, 2022 at Stamey-Cherryville Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Wade Dellinger officiating. Military Honors will be provided by Cherryville American Legion Post 100.
Burial will be private
