Crouse - Mr. Joel Howell Philyaw, 84, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 11, 2023 surrounded by his family.
Joel was born on March 22, 1938 in Greenville, SC a son of the late John Gordon Philyaw and Carolyn Howell Philyaw. He retired as a mechanic.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Alan Philyaw.
Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Dawn Solow Philyaw of the home; a daughter, Darlene Carpenter (Jeremy); stepsons, Paul Platanitis, Jr. (Colleen); Robert Platanitis (Chaz Conors); Eric Platanitis (Michelle); one grandchild, Raven Hampton; a sister, Dolores McManus and a brother Jim Philyaw.
Services and burial will be private.
