Obituary for Edna Mae Cogdill
Lincolnton - Mrs. Edna Mae Cogdill, 75, passed away on Tuesday, July 19, 2022 at Lincoln Rehabilitation in Lincolnton.
Mrs. Cogdill was born in Cocke County, TN on August 9, 1946 a daughter of the late Charles Worker Cashen and Bessie Mae Ledford Cashen. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Cogdill was a member of Riverside House of Prayer in Dallas.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death a sister, Elizabeth Cashen, a brother, Larry Cashen and four grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, J.D. Cogdill, Sr. of the home; two daugthers, Tammy Whitworth (Mike) of Cherryville; Sherry Ward (Eric) of Waco; three sons, J. D. Cogdill, Jr. (Angela) of Lincolnton; Darrell Wayne Cogdill (Debbie) of Waco and Jay Harold Cogdill (Tina) of Lincolnton; six sisters, Patty Holt, Burdell Smith, Margaret "Boo" Shelton, Charlotte Cook, Kathy Cashen and Carolyn Hill all of Newport; two brothers, Donnie Cashen and Randy Cashen all of Newport, TN. Also surviving are numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 9:45AM to 10:45AM on Friday, July 22, 2022 at Stamey-Cherryville Funeral Home and at other times the family will be at the home of a son, Darrell Cogdill, 421 Ward Road, Cherryville, NC 28021.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, July 22, 2022 at Stamey-Cherryville Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. David Chapman and Larry Morrow officiating.
Burial will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Lincolnton.
