Obituary for Bruce Kakassy
Cherryville - Mr. Bruce Robert Kakassy, 71, passed away on Monday, October 3, 2022 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia.
Bruce was born on December 17, 1950 in Evanston, Illinois a son of Catherine Kakassy and the late Anthony Joseph Kakassy. He was retired as a construction worker. Bruce served in the U.S. Marines.
In addition to his mother, survivors include his son, Nicholas Kakassy; a grandson, Sean Kakassy; four sisters, Leslie Gibbs, Susan Petri, Joan May and Patricia Boos; three brothers, Tony, Michael and Thomas Kakassy. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00PM on Sunday, October 9, 2022 at Stamey-Cherryville Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Randy Heffner officiating.
Military honors will be provided by the Cherryville American Legion Post 100 Honor Guard.
The family will greet friends following the service.
Burial will be private.
