Obituary for Aura Ann McGinnis
Cherryville – Mrs. Aura Ann McGinnis, 90, passed away on Sunday, September 12, 2021 at Atrium Health – Lincoln.
Mrs. McGinnis was born in Gaston County, NC on June 23, 1931 daughter of the late Forest Davis and Mable Brown Davis. She retired after 28 years of service with Carolina Freight Carriers Corporation in Cherryville. Mrs. McGinnis was a member of First United Methodist Church in Cherryville.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Hilbert “Deed” McGinnis and a brother, Bob Davis.
Survivors include a son, Joel McGinnis and wife Cheryl; a brother, Jack Davis and wife Helen all of Cherryville; special friend who was like a daughter, Leann Nguyen and her children, who were like grandchildren, Gary, Jason and Steven Quach; a nephew, John Davis of York, PA and several cousins. Also special friends, Richard and Gayla Kerley and Steve Wilson.
The body will lie in state from 2:00PM to 3:00PM on Friday, September 17, 2021 at First United Methodist Church. The family will not be present during this time.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00PM on Friday, September 17, 2021 at First United Methodist Church with Pastor Zack Christy officiating.
Burial will follow the service at City Memorial Cemetery in Cherryville.
